Pool Manager
Pool Manager
Bryn Athyn Swim Club is seeking an organized, dependable Pool Manager to oversee many aspects of pool operations and facilities. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, effective communicator, and enjoys building community among pool staff and patrons. The Pool Manager will work closely with the Board to ensure daily operations and programming run smoothly, creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Oversight
Perform all duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard including monitoring the pool area and enforcing rules to ensure safety of patrons; perform water rescues, administer first aid and/or CPR, if needed. Develop and implement emergency procedures, and ensure staff are trained to respond effectively to incidents.
Staff Management
Recruit, hire, and supervise a team of lifeguards and other personnel. Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure adherence to safety protocols and program standards.
Facility Oversight
Maintain a safe and clean facility by enforcing safety guidelines, conducting inspections, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. Maintain a record of pool chemistry, sanitation, and snack bar inventory.
Programming Coordination
Work closely with the Board to develop and implement events and classes, including swim lessons, camps, swim team, and private parties.
Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service to patrons by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming environment.
Payroll
Ensure pool staff have proper documentation for work and payroll. Input staff hours from timesheets weekly.
Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including health codes, safety guidelines, and certifications. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and inventory.
Other Duties
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Board.
Qualifications
- Age 21+
- Shallow Water Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience, including staff supervision and program development. Aquatics management and previous lifeguarding experience are a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with employees, officials and the public
- Knowledge of aquatic safety practices, emergency procedures, and risk management
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn pool software, point of sale, and payroll software
- Ability to work flexible summer hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, to repetitively bend and stoop to operate equipment, and to climb guard towers
- Ability to perform record keeping and basic mathematics
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, including phone, tablet, computer, etc.
